April 15, 2006 Minutes

Board Members Present: Dave Vanderwalle, Louie Miller, Tim Hill, and Fred Benardella.

Meeting Called To Order: 10:05 AM

Treasurer’s Report:
Beginning balance: $49,790.19 Trust At: $184,596.00
Debits: 2,891.54
Credits: 2,035.00
Balance: 48,933.65
Park: 3,510.10
Fire Station: 3,459.22

Abandoned Cars: Three cars were removed in the past month. Again, remember the county program to remove them from private property at no charge is still available but this program will end June 30th.

Neighborhood Watch: Reports or more of pigs creating havoc. Tim has caught and removed another dozen this month. He has been using one of his own traps and the one the association purchased last month. Monthly Neighborhood Watch meetings are still held but with little or no attendance by association members.

Park Report: Poles are drilled and as soon as the weather breaks Dave will have them installed. Still under consideration are: swing set, trail, covered area, picnic table.

Volunteer Fire Department: Couple calls, unpermitted burns, etc. Training is still with Volacano on the fourth Tuesday of the month but now include Fern Forrest. Fire Station funds will be used to complete the Fire House and get a final inspection. Then power and catchment tank.

Road Report: Potholes are being filled. Still waiting to receive bids on cutting back the trees at the entrance to Eden Roc. New Stop signs are ordered and waiting to be received. Mr. Christe’s letter sent to the county engineer and our county representatives requesting a left turn lane was answered and they acknowledged this intersection is becoming more hazardous and they will take a look at it but there are many other things that have priority. Thank you Mr. Christe as letting them know we are concerned is a big first step.

Old Business: Mr. Bill Christe has also helped to put together the packet of information to be given out to association members to let them know what is going to be done. It also will contain contact and other info. It looked very good and he will try to finalize it this month. It will also be mailed to new property owners when they purchase. Packet of information to be passed out advising members of the work to be done on clearing the road easements is coming together and will be ready to be put out soon. Motion made and seconded to get a separate phone number and answering machine for association business. Will publish number as soon as it is available. Coqui Frog spraying continues thanks to some great volunteers who have devoted much time and effort.

New Business: Association Insurance ends on May 27th. Have contacted a couple of brokers and are still searching. Looking at raising the association fees as we have limited income to accomplish anything.

Meeting Adjourned: 11:30AM
